All types of goodies [D-rank mission]

Like wrinkles the thin circles spread over the water's surface before fading away at the sides of the pond. Thousands of Sakura petals were gently carried with every wave, covering at least a third of the pond, looking like they were glued to the surface. Passing on the right side of the pond, Catherina couldn't help but to wonder whether there was any koi beneath the pink layer of softness.

Proceeding to the door, Catherina knocked twice before taking a step back and waiting politely for some sort of reply. She didn't need to wait for long, soon the door cracked, opening to reveal a young blonde with piercing green eyes.

This had to be Carla Magnolia.

Miss Magnolia – that's how Carla preferred to be addressed, appeared to have some trouble with going outside without an escort. Whether her worries were legit or simply paranoia Catherina didn't know. Despite that, she accepted to accompany the younger woman to the shopping streets and whatever other business she would have to do in town. The trip could last the whole day, but the raven haired Mage would get compensated for her troubles of looking after the young Magnolia. It wasn't like Cat was used to playing bodyguard, though having a younger sister that loved to do anything that crashed with most people's common sense, Cat had grown used to keeping an eye on others. Hence this shouldn't be a problem.

It took them a little less than a half an hour to get to the centre of the city. Clara appeared to be more excited that Alex was half of the time and had Catherina wondering how that was even possible. The young woman's vibrant eyes burned bright as she dragged Cat from one shop to the other. Catherina had to give her that most of the things that she put on to try looked good on her, if not perfect. However, that didn't make Cat any happier about carrying the bags and dive from one crowded place into the other.

No, it wasn't like Catherina hated to shop. She liked to, but only if she needed something. Whenever that happened the woman happily headed out to find herself a new pair of shoes, or a jacket. Window shopping wasn't her thing. It simply wasn't. She couldn't understand why people would want to spend their free time looking at things they either didn't need, or simply couldn't afford. Cringing Cat leaned against the counter, three bags were hanging over her right arm and another two were clutched inside the palm of her left. What she was doing now was pretty much window shopping considering she didn't need anything at the moment.

You get paid for it, though.

Otherwise she wouldn't be here – Obviously.

Putting the bags on the floor next to her feet, she stifled a yawn with the back of her, now free, hand. Hopefully the girl would get tired eventually, they were here for more than three and a half hours already. Half if not two third of the shops had been visited by now, and Catherina really hoped that Carla wouldn't get the idea to visit the male ones.

“I get carried away at times like these, I can't get out that often, and try to take advantage of it when I do get to roam around the shops.”

Cat could see that, but the way the blonde brought it forth- slightly pouting and everything, had Catherina nod in approval. She couldn't help but to smile. It was allright, it was only fair to enjoy something if you couldn't do it all the time- especially when you liked it.

More bags followed, more shops and a really lonnnggg looonnngg row at the one where shoes were piled up all the way to the ceiling. In the end they had managed to survive the trip, and keep all of the purchases; which wasn't as easy as it sounded. By now Miss Magnolia was carrying almost as many bags as Cat was. They dragged the boxes and bags back to the mansion where the blonde happily chatted away as she unpacked her new clothes, ripping the paper bags in her excitement.

After a cup of tea, Catherina left with a strange feeling in her gut. The day had been exhausting, but Carla seemed to be so happy with her new shoes, shirts and skirts, that the hour long walking almost seemed to have been worth it.
And perhaps it was.
